June 10             Holy Communion at St Peter’s   First Sunday after TRINITY      8 & 11 a.m.
June 16       9 a.m. Cemetery Clean-up day, weed pulling, bush cutting, land-reclaiming, grave filling!

We welcome all who are worshipping with us in this Trinity season. St Peter's is a specifically Prayer Book Parish theologically as well as liturgically. What this means is that traditional liturgy (services) are the worshipping expression of normative Anglican, (i.e., of the Anglican Communion) belief. We hope that you find your time in our midst spiritually refreshing and beneficial.

Slow and steady  – at our last Vestry ( May 27^th) meeting we learned of a serious shortfall in Parish income for the month of May – in essence, attendance was down and as a collateral result so too was envelope giving!  A discussion developed concerning envelope giving versus e-offering. It was observed that e-offering, is a steady, known and dependable method of supporting the Parish whether one is present on a given Sunday or not and does not require remembering to fill out an envelope or perform ‘catch-up’ if one misses a Sunday. This assumes that folks actually play catch-up for missed Sundays and sadly this is often NOT the case. The reality that e-offering also addresses is that  - the bills continue to come in even if you are not present!

The NCD Survey Process continues. Results will be shared and a congregational planning meeting will then be scheduled, perhaps on June 24^th – stay tuned.

Did you KNOW? As everyone has been made well aware this is the anniversary of the 1812-1814 War (against the American aggressors). This was the war of the famous winter  march of New Brunswick’s 104^th Regiment of Foot from Fredericton to Kingston, (Upper Canada) The Regiment became storm stayed at Lake Temiscouta in Quebec Colony and ran very low on supplies. Lieutenant Charles Rainsford and two volunteers snowshoed 145 kms in 48 hours and returned with a rescue party carrying food to the 200 starving soldiers! Captain Rainsford, [Canadian hero] the savior of the 104^th was a member of St Peter’s and is buried in our cemetery! [source: www.stjohnriver.org]
