Upcoming Worship Services and Events at the Parish of St Peter, Fredericton.

Sept 15             Sunday School / Confirmation Recommences at an altered time   10 a.m.

Sept. 18            midweek followed by 1st choir practice 7:45 p.m.                        7 p.m.  

Sept 19             175 banquet planning meeting - all willing to help welcome!    7 p.m.  

Sept.22             Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity Holy Communion                     8 & 11a.m

Sept 22             Doors Open Event: city of Fredericton Guides at 1, 2 and 3       1-4 p.m.

Sept 29             Back to Church Sunday  and VESTRY Meeting                         12:30 p.m.

We welcome all who are worshipping with us this Trinity Season. St Peter's is a specifically Prayer Book Parish theologically as well as liturgically. What this means is that traditional liturgy (services) are the worshipping expression of normative Anglican, (i.e., of the Anglican Communion) belief. We hope that you find your time in our midst spiritually refreshing and beneficial. We also pray that you might  find time in your busy life to return!

Celebrating 175 Years: There will be a special anniversary service with Archbishop Miller on Sunday Nov., 24th. 11 a.m. There will be a catered Parish Banquet on Sat, Oct 26 …..dinner will be $25 per person with entertainment and the theme will be the 175th anniversary of St Peters. Ticket sales are limited to 75 persons and everyone has to purchase a ticket, even Fr Hebb, 60 are already spoken for so speak for your ticket NOW

A Container to help defray initial Banquet costs is set up at the rear - make a contribution if you can!

Contributions towards a Silent Auction to be held at the 175th Banquet are solicited: contact Bob Matthews at 470-3071 with ideas and items and information.

Please  Note: 175th Year Treasures: Distribution of items  signed for will be made  Sunday Sept 22 at both services!

Why not check out our fine Memorial Garden at the rear of the church - Wilfred A's work has made it a welcome addition to our cemetery!

Canadian hero,  Captain Charles Rainsford and his brother Lawrence Bradshaw Rainsford have both been honoured with special gravesite plaques from Ontario as part of the War of 1812-14 commemorations - an event (which must be advertized, is a requirement of receiving said plaques) Event planning has now reached high gear and is scheduled for either Oct 15 or 16th - stay tuned !

Farraline Place: Items are needed for their Gala set for Oct 25:4-8 p.m. to raise funds for a new roof and to offset flood damage from 2008. Items needed for Silent auction, craft table and white elephant - please clearly label item (including value) and  bring to bin in Church or call Betty A. at 452-7037

TODAY is Sunday School: The SS teachers and Fr Hebb have decided to return to the previous SS time of 10 a.m. to 11:15 for weekly SS classes. Sunday School will commence with a group worship and sing-a-long followed by class. Due to a critical teacher shortage, one (1) children's class can be offered and Fr Hebb will commence  Confirmation class for those 10 yrs old. The class will run weekly from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the expectation that the youth will normally join worship at 11 a.m. Confirmation classes will run til April and resume next Sept - in 2014. A confirmation date in late autumn 2014 will be sought from the Bishop.

Sept 22: Doors Open event in city of Fredericton. Volunteers will welcome guests. With Dr Anne Klinck's  fine write-up  for our National Historic Site Application and Dr Hebb's  pamphlet for his Spring talks there is ample information for our 'Guides' to review and communicate to the curious.

Notice: Autumn Turkey Supper interest level sign-up sheets at rear: Date Sat. Oct. 19th. We plan a very busy fall, if there is sufficient  assistance a Turkey Supper will happen, if NOT, then it will NOT YOU MUST sign-up to indicate interest - you cannot say later - "oh, I intended to help like always!"
