We welcome all who are worshipping with us this Trinity Season. St Peter's is a specifically Prayer Book Parish theologically as well as liturgically. What this means is that traditional liturgy (services) are the worshipping expression of normative Anglican, (i.e., of the Anglican Communion) belief. We hope that you find your time in our midst spiritually refreshing and beneficial. We also pray that you might  find time in your busy life to return!
A warm thank-you to all who worked so hard and contributed in any manner - especially with your prayers and presence to our successful 175th Anniversary Dinner! We, as a Parish, do have much to reflect upon and be thankful for to our God and our fore bearers in this place.
Interviews for 175 anniversary Video were conducted Sat Oct 26 inside the Church - those  interviewed spoke of their, their family's and friends connection and participation at St Peter's PAST and present. Robert Payne has graciously volunteered to produce a celebratory video as part of  our 175th anniversary celebrations. Robert, the son of Emerson and Irene Payne (nephew of Edith Henry)  has made a career of media work (radio and TV)  in Ontario. Robert hopes to have a finished product before Christmas
Canadian hero,  Captain Charles Rainsford and his brother Lawrence Bradshaw Rainsford were both  honoured with special gravesite plaques at an October 15th ceremony. The well attended and smoothly run event took place under glorious sunshine- many thanks to all who worked so hard to make this event such a success!
In lieu of our annual Turkey supper an empty basket has appeared at the rear for donations towards our Invisible Turkey Event. Proceeds from this un-Turkey effort can be placed in marked envelopes and if donors include their names and envelope #, they can receive income tax credit for their contributions.
Sunday school and Confirmation Classes: Due to a critical teacher shortage, one (1) children's class can be offered and Fr Hebb has now begun a Confirmation class for those 10 yrs old. The class will run weekly from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the expectation that the youth will normally join worship at 11 a.m. Confirmation classes will run til April and resume next Sept - in 2014. A confirmation date in late autumn 2014 will be sought from the Bishop.
Yesterday's  Annual Christmas Bazaar and Chicken Casserole was a success - thanks to all who worked and all who supported this annual event!
Dr Hebb plans a 2nd annual PUBLIC (not just Parish) Remembrance Day talk Monday Nov 11 at 2 p.m. Topic:  The outbreak of WW 1 and the year 1914 as seen through  Letters Home all welcome!
He has been asked to repeat this talk Nov 12 at St Mary's Devon for the North side Hist. association
