EASTER Flowers: Those wishing to make a donation to adorn God’s House for Easter please speak with Maria Matthews, or call 459-4552 before Friday. Notation will be made in the Easter bulletin insert if you so desire! Those wishing a ‘memorial or thank offering bulletin’ donation for an upcoming Holy Day, eg., Good Friday,  or Low Sunday please speak with Fr Hebb. Cost $20.00

 St Peter's is hosting the Archdeaconry Commission's last Greater Chapter Meeting to present their "Final Report" on Sat. April 13th in the Parish Hall, 9 a.m. to noon. Refreshments requested.

 All remaining Income tax receipts for 2012 have been mailed.
Celebrating 175 Years: The other week Vestry brainstormed our anniversary year potential. Items being pursued include a catered Parish Banquet in the autumn as well as a special anniversary service with Archbishop Miller on Sunday Nov., 24th. 11 a.m. Our Sunday school is also running a "logo" drawing contest. Our ACW is investigating striking special glasses and/ or plates to mark the occasion. Stay tuned for further updates!

Missionary Canon Paul Jeffries visit was a success the other week. Also our “spiritual partnership” Parish of St Mary’s, Devon officially joined us for the potluck and presentation.

Positive News: On Monday Feb 11, 2013 St Peter’s Cemetery was declared a historic site by Fredericton City Council. Fr Hebb addressed Council on the occasion. This event made the CBC radio Tuesday a.m. news, is a written article on the CBC website news and was written up in the Daily Gleaner on Wed., Feb 13 section A, page 4.

New offering envelopes are at the rear – if your name is not on a box then please claim a new box and sign your name on the sheet on the wall provided for that purpose. Let’s all do our bit financially and together keep the doors of St Peter’s open for this our 175th year

Note: On Friday Jan 25th at 7 p.m. a meeting was held between members of St Mary’s, Devon vestry and members of St. Peter’s vestry to discuss and investigate the possibilities inherent in our Parishes’ proposed “spiritual partnership” relationship. Fr Hebb chaired the meeting.

Fr Hebb has had to dip into his discretionary fund to buy groceries for a family of five the other week and an individual the previous week - total $138.00 thus far! We need to be more vigilant in bringing grocery donations to church in order to cover these situations!

Today is our special annual Lenten Lessons and Meditations service. Your choir and organist have been working hard to lead us in these devotions this day!

All Parish ladies are invited to join the ACW at the Deanery house by the Cathedral on Wed. March 6 at 2:30 for an informal "tea" with Canon Jeffries - and a peak at the renovated house now dubbed "O'Dell House".

St Peter’s is Hosting the local World Day of Prayer service this year on March 1 at 7 p.m. – reception following Storm date Monday March 4, at 7 p.m.

 

Shrove Tuesday Supper:  A warm thanks to all who contributed, worked and ate – the effort realized $1,450.00. A special thanks is extended to the cubs, beavers and scouts and their leaders for all their help and support!

 

Income tax receipts will be available next Sunday Feb 24th.
